I see our school system as a caring and learning
organization that understands the needs of our
children for today and tomorrow, as they learn to
live in a world of constant and accelerating change.
Our schools will offer learning experiences for all
of our children commensurate with their individual
abilities, aptitudes and interests. Our children
will be able to achieve as expected on the Sunshine
State Standards. Our students will become effective,
lifelong learners through their ability to process
and transfer information in meaningful ways.
They will attain the skills of critical thinking,
decision making and problem solving as part of their
basic school experience. They will learn how to use
and manage technology as a tool for learning and
work applications. They will understand the
interrelated-ness of knowledge. They will be
competent in the basic skills of communications,
math, science, and the social sciences. They will
appreciate the concepts of beauty, art, and nature,
and they will understand the values that underlie
our democratic system.
