Level One: EAMS Basic
At Level One, EAMS serves as a way to distribute your
existing employment application forms from your web site. Even in its
simplest form, EAMS can save printing, duplication, and distribution
costs by transforming your existing forms into an easily downloadable
"PDF" format, the current standard for document distribution.
A PDF file preserves your application forms' layout,
typesetting, spacing, and pagination* in a compact, easily downloadable
form that matches, almost exactly, your existing printed ones. The user
simply prints them out, fills them in, and mails them in the usual way.
As an example, you can view this form from the Leeds City, Alabama
School District.

Forms require Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free
program already installed on most computers. Anyone who does not
have it can obtain it from
Adobe's web site. |
In addition to the forms themselves, EAMS Basic
can also include any special instructions for completing and
submitting them. |
Level Two: EAMS Core
At Level Two, EAMS adds the ability, not only to distribute
forms, but to post job openings on your web site as well. The Personnel
Department uses an EAMS entry form to specify the job position, then
post it to your web site.
EAMS will not display the advertisement until its "begin" date, and will
stop showing it at the "expiration" date- one thing less for Personnel
to be concerned with.
Now, a prospective employee can obtain not just the forms, but current
information about available positions.
Level Three: EAMS Complete
At Level Three, EAMS adds facilitation for much of the
inter-departmental communications involved in advertising and
application review procedures. With a Level Three EAMS service...
The online application is an
abbreviated form that collects only the most salient
information. It is matched to the printed forms by a unique
number assigned during online submission. |
- A department head, principal, or other administrator
logs
in to a REQUEST module, where they can submit a
request to create a new or fill a currently vacant position. Once
it's been submitted, the person making the request can review its
status, which can range from "New Submission" all the way to a list
of pre-screened applicants. Once it's reached that point, the
requestor can review the applications, annotate them, conduct
interviews, and ultimately submit a recommendation for hiring a
specific applicant.
- When Personnel receives a request to fill a position, they can
pass it through the system to the Board of Education for approval.
Once approved, Personnel uses the Core component to advertise the
position on their web site.
- At Level Three, the applicant can submit an
application through an EAMS form attached to the web site, as well
as downloading any required supporting printed matter. The system
assigns a unique tracking number to each application, which the
applicant must include with his printed material to facilitate
matching.
- The EAMS system reports these online applications back to
Personnel, where they are reviewed, screened, and the information
for viable candidates made available to the original requesting
party (see #1.).
- When the Requestor has made a choice, he can submit his Letter
of Recommendation through the system back to Personnel, where it is
passed through the system to the Board of Education for approval.
- This process continues until an Approved candidate is hired,
using existing procedures.
Level Four: EAMS Plus
At Level Four, EAMS provides all the functionality of EAMS
Complete, plus additional recruitment information for prospective
applicants promoting desirable features of the school system and
surrounding area.
